BYJU'S

For six months I was on the core backend team at BYJU'S — at the time, one of India's largest ed-tech companies — taking a Ruby monolith apart and rebuilding pieces of it as Go microservices, including the backend behind the product-recommendation feature. The hard part of any migration like this isn't writing the new service — it's that the old system and the new one have to work correctly at the same time, for months, with real users on both.
